GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF OUR AUCTION

Woodburn Livestock Exchange holds an auction for Poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and rabbits, etc.) every Tuesday beginning at 9:30 am (see calendar for specific dates)

CHECK IN TIMES:

  • Monday: 8:00am – 4:30pm. Bring enough feed for your animals to stay overnight.
  • Tuesday: 7:00am – 8:30am.  (Reminder: the auction starts at 9:30am)

CHECKING IN AND SELLING PROCEDURES

Upon arrival, you will be asked to unload your animals and place them in numbered cages. We will then fill out a check in form. This form will contain your name, mailing address, phone number, head count, description of the animals you brought in as well as the pen they were placed in. You will be given a copy of this as your receipt.

BUYERS

All buyers regardless of how you pay will need to get a buyer number. These numbers can be obtained from the clerk in the poultry auction area. This number is a permanent number and you may retain it for future visits, however should your contact information change please let the auction clerk know or visit the livestock office to update this information.   The reason for the buyer number is the Department of Agriculture is required to test all birds for the Avian Flu before being sold. Should any bird’s test come back positive the ODA needs to be able to contact the buyer.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

The preferred payment is cash paid to the clerk at the time of each purchase. If you would like to pay by check, debit or credit card you may do so at the livestock office, however there is a 4% surcharge added when paying with credit cards.

LOAD OUT

You may load your animals once the active auction has moved down the line to allow you access to them without disturbing the auction. Please bring a cage to take your animals home in as we do not provide cages for transport. If you are not loading out right away we highly recommend you bring a lock to lock up the cage until you have time to load them out of the pen. After you purchase the animals they are your responsibility.
