PROCEDURES AND RULES
WLE has an auction specifically for horses and horse tack once a month on the 3rd Friday night of the month. Tack begins at 6:00 PM and horses at 8:30 PM (see calendar for specific dates).
TACK CHECK IN AND SALE
Horse tack may be checked in on the week of the sale only, from 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Wednesday and Thursday and from 8:00 AM 5:30 PM on Friday, the day of the sale. No tack will be checked in on Monday or Tuesday. No tack will be accepted after 5:30 PM on Friday and we may quit accepting tack earlier if we fill up.
Sale items are up to the discretion of WLE. We do not accept clothes, artwork, or non-horse related items.
The tack sale begins at 6:00 PM with the used tack then we sell new tack. After the tack has sold, used saddles will be sold, then new saddles.
CHECKING YOUR HORSE IN
Horses are sold in the order they are checked into the barn. We begin accepting horses at 8:00 AM Thursday morning until 5:00 PM Thursday night, and begin again at 8:00 AM Friday morning and quit accepting horses at 8:30 PM when we start the horse sale.
Horses must have a halter on them when checked in and the halter will be sold with the horse.
Any and all paperwork for the horse must be checked in with the horse (stories, registration papers, etc..)
Registered horses must be checked in before 5:00 PM on the day of the sale. They can be checked in after 5:00 but we will not guarantee the papers.
Once a horse is checked into the barn it may not leave the barn until it is sold at the end of the night.
MINIMUM BID
When you check your horse in you will be asked if you want to put a minimum price on the horse. You do not have to set a minimum on your horse, but if you do, the office and the auctioneer will be the only ones to see this minimum. Please be realistic in putting a minimum bid on your horse as once it has been set it can not be changed.
The better a horse is represented, the better it will sell. The following is a list of levels of representation:
· Drop your horse off with no story and have us lead them through the sale ring.
· Leave a story with your horse that the auctioneer can read while we are leading your horse through the sale ring.
· Stay with your horse to answer any questions prospective buyers may have before the sale and lead your horse through the sale ring while the auctioneer is reading your story on the horse.
· Stay with your horse to answer any questions prospective buyers may have, saddle and ride your horse around the small pen in the barn, ride your horse in the ring while the auctioneer is reading your story about the horse.
BUYERS
We use buyer numbers at our auction and in order to purchase anything you must first go to the office and register to get a buyers number. This number will only be good for that night. You will need a drivers license or some form of picture identification with a current address to receive a buyer number.
All purchases must be paid for the night of the sale. You may leave your horses overnight by paying the $2 per-head per-night feed fee. We would like to have all horses gone by Sunday night. All tack must be picked up the night of the sale.
