WOODBURN LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE
Cattle sale
PROCEDURES AND RULES
WLE has a cattle auction every Tuesday beginning at 11:30 am. We call this our cattle auction but we do sell all animals on Tuesday.
CHECKING IN AND SELLING PROCEDURES
All animals coming in on pickups, gooseneck trailers and small trucks will be unloaded on the North side of the facility. Only Semi Trucks will unload at the docks on the south side of the facility.
Upon unloading your animals we will fill out a green check in form. This form will contain your name, mailing address and phone number and a brief description of which type of animals you are checking in with a head count. Your animals will then be placed into a chute where they will be tagged with a numbered back tag and inspected by the state brand inspector. They will then be moved to temporary holding pens while waiting to be sorted for size and sex before being sold.

Please note, that at the auctioneer’s discretion, he may change the manner in which he sells a particular animal. For example he may sell a 250 pound calf by the head or by the pound so please listen closely and ask if you have any questions.
We do the best job that we can to sell cattle is size order. Please keep in mind that we have many consigners bring cattle in after the sale has already started. So if you are looking to buy 400 pound cattle and we are selling 700 pound cattle that does not mean that we do not have any more 400 pound cattle to sell they may be still coming in.
BUYERS
We use buyer numbers at our auction and in order to purchase anything you must first go to the office and register to get a buyers number. This number will only be good for that day. You will need a driver’s license or some form of picture identification with a current address to receive a buyer number.
All purchases must be paid for the day of the sale. You may leave your animals overnight by paying a fee for us to feed and water them.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
We accept in-state checks on major banks with proper identification or pre- approved checks. In order to be pre-approved you must call our office on a non-sale day and talk with Tom or Mary. You will need your bank information including the name on the account you will be writing the check from, the account number, the branch address, phone number, and a contact at the bank that we can call for a reference.
